Synopsis:
In the heartland of Iowa, amidst the rolling fields and fading memories of family farming, Andrea Morrison finds herself at a crossroads. As the daughter of one of the last family farmers in Sackett County, her world is shaken when an unexpected email from Scotland unveils a proposal that could change her life forever.
The email, sent by a man named Mata, reveals that her farm’s location has been identified as the new home for an old restoration-age stone church. With aspirations of bringing the faithful back to Sackett, Andrea sees an opportunity for revival and restoration. However, complications arise when she arrives in Kirkinner to find that Mata may not be able to deliver on his promise.
Mata, driven by a deep-rooted mission of faith, shares with Andrea the significance of the church – it was where his grandfather once preached. Determined to see it live again before his grandfather’s passing, Mata enlists Andrea’s help in relocating the church to Iowa.
Though the church is sold, they are granted the stone building under the condition that they move it themselves. A modern-day call to action emerges as faithful tourists from around the world journey to Kirkinner, each pledging to take a stone with them to Iowa.
As the deadline approaches, pilgrims embark on unconventional journeys, smuggling stones in carry-on bags and exceeding weight limits, all driven by a shared belief in the power of faith and community.
Back in Iowa, Andrea and Mata face their own challenges as they rally stonemasons and overcome hurdles in the relocation process. A momentous flaw threatens to derail their efforts, but through perseverance and faith, they press on, determined to see their vision come to fruition.
As Easter approaches, the church is finally completed, and on the morning of the holy day, its lights illuminate for the first time in a century. Andrea’s father, standing in the pulpit once again, delivers a powerful message of hope and renewal, joined by Mata’s grandfather, whose presence embodies the enduring legacy of faith.
Amidst the celebration, Andrea and Mata find themselves at a new beginning. Moved by the journey they’ve shared, Andrea extends an invitation for Mata to join her in farming, recognizing that his true place may be by her side.
