Crisis Actors – a new novel by IB Holder

Crisis Actors

Foster and his best friend Cody are middle-school malcontents living lives of comfortable neglect. Foster’s mother went up north on a quest for attention and a shot at local television. Cody’s parents are so successful they hardly even notice they have a child. The bond these kids forge and share is one of innocence turning into adolescence. Their world becomes suddenly urgent when they decide to start chasing crises all over the country. They find a place of great turmoil and then insert themselves into it.  It is fashioned off of an eighth-grade social studies assignment where they’re supposed to be viewing it all remotely from a screen, but neither of them wants to simply sit back and watch. They now move from city to city, ghosts in the background of the great events of a turbulent world on the brink.  It is their time.
