Synopsis:
Ace dance studio has been teaching traditional dance moves for 40 years in the beach community of Ventura. Darla Ace and her daughter Jordin grew up on the warn wooden floors with the surf crashing in the background. This idyllic place however is seeing a great change as the land values around it skyrocketed and the kids of the generation don’t seem to connect with dance. It seems doomed to be swept away and developed into the corporate coffee shop or boutique condominium development.

Jordan finds a a contest online that is targeting dance groups of five members. The first group that gets 15 million hits within a 24 hour window will be the viral sensation of the year. The grand prize is $125,000. Now Jordan and her mother have about 10 Facebook friends and still haven’t figured out their Twitter account but they come up with a plan. They are going to put together five solo dancers that have lit up YouTube. They only take girls who have a solo dance post that received 5 million hits or more. They put together this group with the idea that all of their internet fame will bring them quick victory. It almost works with their first post, a mishmash of styles held together by a backbeat. The counter stalls at 45 million and they have to try again. It doesn’t work and they’re going in the wrong direction. Other groups are getting close to claiming the prize. They are going to have to really blend their talents and pull in the community to save the studio. They are down to their last dance, and it will only succeed if they can unlock the power of five.
