Logline:
When a sign of an alien invasion is discovered, a British Chess Master Peter Weller (47) and a team of scientists work against the clock to repel the attack using last minute theories about an age-old mystery about the origins of life.
Synopsis:
Three billion years ago, the planet Mars teemed with life, it was ready for “the harvest.” A comet strike stripped the surface of life and by the way of a few falling stars, Earth became the new incubator. Earth was not meant to have life, and somewhere in the very first living organisms that populated the planet is the evidence that will save the life of everything on earth. That is, if anyone can put together the clues before the next harvest time comes.
PETER WELLER is a British developmental biologist who honestly doesn’t like people that much. His “genius-level” understanding of animal behavior has led to him to the very top of his field. When he used migration formations to publish a book on aviation, the royal air force came knocking on his door. In a global competition on military tactics, his unit ended up winning, embarrassing the top military minds of the world. He didn’t care much, and returned to his study of the defecation patterns of arctic wildlife.
NADIA is a chemist, mother of two, heading to Antarctica to test her theories on the origin of life. She is from a poor neighborhood in America, Peter comes from polite upper class society. They are thrown together at the edge of the world.
Far away, forces are gathering. A great danger is coming. Peter and Nadia are oil and water. One has the weight of the world on his shoulders, the other potentially holds the answer. If they can’t put their heads together, the planet may be stripped of everything. Years of working on their own, inside their own heads, makes personal interaction difficult.
Nadia can’t understand how Peter can care so little for his fellow man. Slowly Peter begins to see the world through her eyes. Things that Nadia takes for granted, family, friends, even feelings develop in Peter. He becomes convinced that he will save anything connected with her, including the world. An invasion begins, Peter studies the foe, and just before annihilation, he remembers something Nadia taught him. The building blocks of life exist in even the highly evolved. In the rubble of Mars, at the very foundation of life is a clue that will ensure the future of humanity.
